APPLICANTS Please Read (the rules)

It may be cliched to say this, but Keepers of the Glade is not your ordinary guild. From the beginning days of Tholuxe Paells, KotG was there. We were one of the very first guilds on the server, begining two weeks after EQ started, arguably the oldest guild still in existence on Tholuxe before the server merger with Bertox. We are one of the largest casual/family guilds on Bertox with a solid reputation for friendliness and competent players.

To become a member of KOTG, here are some basic rules all must be willing to comply with:

1. Keep guild chat clean. While this rule can appear uptight, it's really for the best. Alll of us will slip up at one point or another - but do your best to keep guild chat clean. You can always create a chat channel or use tells if this rule appears burdensome.

1b. Remember that you represent KotG in /ooc, /say, and any other public channel.  Foul language or harassment of another player is to be discouraged at all times.  If you choose to ignore this and KotG officers get complaints you will be warned, and possibly removed from the guild.

2. Asking for help on guild chat is fine. Begging is annoying. No answers to a question typically means people are either busy or don't know the answer. So, ask away - ask questions, ask for help, ask about whatever - but be patient and don't harrass members.

3. Disagreements will occur. If someone says something that truly bothers you, often its best to either agree to disagree or move on. Long drawn out "drama" is not conducive to a quality guild atmosphere so at the very least take it to tells.

3b. Many people enjoy debating online about various things from religion to politics, including myself. Sometimes these debates become somewhat personal. If someone seems upset, it may be time to change the subject.

3c. If all else fails, contact an officer.

4. Patience is a virtue. Remember that.

5. Check the website regularly. Skimming the website is easy and will keep you up to date. Checking the website will often give people notice of what's going on so they can make plans in advance. Plus, officers often ask for advice and input so everyone has an opportunity to affect the guild via the forums.

Rules on applying:

Post on our website (www.keepersoftheglade.com) in the recruit forum (this forum).   Please complete application posted.

Information to include: Levels, AAs, playtimes, magelos, people you know in the guild, etc.

Anyone over level 50 can apply. We encourage mains to apply (your alts/boxes are welcome too but your main character must be in the guild).  Most people have alts and are will willingly group with you, especially if you're patient.

Applicants will:

1. Be invited to the guild after they apply and an officer has a chance to review the post, look for a comment and contact a member or officer.
2. Go through that trial period in which at the end the officers will decide whether to accept you as a full member or not.

To be accepted as a full member after the trial period, please be aware of the following things:

1. The trial period will likely take about four weeks or a month, give or take a couple days.
2. Positive attitudes and mature behavior will be rewarded first and foremost.
3. Being a casual gamer is OKAY. We are mostly casual gamers. However, in the time you play try to play with guildies and get to know everyone. Officers will want the positive feedback.
4. Drama is a great thing. But not in EQ.
5. You'll probably only be notified if there's a problem; if you've been in the guild and playing for your trial period and haven't had any warnings, you're probably in for good.

Why apply to the Keepers of the Glade?

1. We are a casual guild that can raid. Can't find the time to raid with the ubers? Don't worry about it, we have a home for you. We're taking a casual guild where no casual guild has gone before.

2. Our raid targets have expanded rapidly.  We typically raid several nights a week - contact an officer for more information.

3. KOTG has a wide variety of people playing from the most hardcore to the most casual, from Europe to California and from Barbarian Berserkers to Dark Elf Clerics. You'll meet new, interesting people.

4. We have a very friendly atmosphere - the people who you meet, you'll tend to like.

5. There is no raiding requirement. You can simply join us for a good group of folks to hang out with or be totally hardcore -- it's up to you.

If you're interested, contact any officer in game and make sure to make a post on this website.
