Hey any rangers out there have the new 10 AA cost Entrap?

Just wondering if it is worth it and wondering how long it lasts, how often it is resisted, does it work indoors and outdoors, what is the reset time and if you keep a Snare spell up in addition to the AA as a backup.

I bought the level 1 Entrap (for 4 aa) ages ago but ended up never using it as it seemed to get resisted a lot.

Bought this

The 50% extra xp weekend earned me much xp, so I bought the level 2 of Entrap.  So far it seems to work the same as the snare I usually use, the level 69 Earthern Shackles.  It fails about as often, which is to say rarely.  It has a bit farther range but obviously doesn't cost any mana, so I save 125 mana there per cast.   Has about the same cast time also.

The big difference is that it is on a different reset timer then spells.  If my Entrap fails I can quickly cast my spell snare or vice versa.  One other advantage I see is with the new Deadfall ranger blast which only works on mobs not in combat.  I don't have Deadfall yet but I plan to.  This is a spell meant for pulling, but sometimes snare is best for pulling, especially in tight quarters.   Now with the Entrap AA ability I would be able to blast with Deadfall, pulling the mob, then use Entrap right away without having to wait for my spells to reset.

Not sure if it was worth 10 AA's but whatever.

Deadfall

I  think deadfall is pretty fun myself lol.....and  your right about the other snare bein a different timer than the reg snare, that does make it nice.  Do you see a difference between the first aa snare and this one?

Not sure

You know I bought the first level of Entrap 6 months ago and used it a few times.  It got resisted alot so I stopped.  The second AA snare level seems to get resisted about as often as the spell snare I still use sometimes (I still keep both up - if a snare doesn't land it is handy having something on a different timer to recast quickly).   One other thing though about the Ensnare AA - it never fizzles!!

And I do have Deadfall now and it is fun to pull mobs with a blast that crits for over 13K!  The mana cost is huge though so can't use it for regular pulling so just for fun once in a while.

Clarification

So for clarification the second part of entrap is just on a different timer and nothing else is different from earthen shackles?

The Entrap AA doesn't cost

The Entrap AA doesn't cost any mana and yes, it is on its own timer, not the spell timer. I am unsure as to the duration, I havn't notice it wear off before my mobs die. It very well may be longer the Earthern Shackles. It also frees up a spell slot if you don't have to mem Earthern Shackles.
